Technical Solution:
The project involved an intricate integration of Snowflake, Airflow, Snowstreams, and dbt. Snowflake's cloud-native architecture was selected for its scalable multi-cluster capabilities, allowing for the independent scaling of compute and storage resources. Snowflake’s data sharing features were also utilized to enhance real-time data access and governance. Apache Airflow was integrated to manage complex data workflows through its Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAGs), which provided flexible scheduling and efficient task monitoring. Airflow’s dynamic pipeline generation was critical in accommodating a variety of data sources and formats. Snowstreams enabled real-time stream processing, essential for timely analytics in supply chain management. It incorporated Change Data Capture (CDC) techniques for continuous data synchronization. The integration also featured dbt for advanced data processing within Snowflake, adopting an ELT approach for efficient in-place data transformation. dbt’s capabilities were extended to complex data modeling and quality testing, ensuring data integrity.
